2) Only shave once a week. sometimes even less.. Take your face by surprise and you will be rewarded. You may want to introduce fallow times of year when you do not harvest your crop for at least two months. Winter is an ideal time for this. Your hairs will relax as they are not on guard from facing the chop every 24 hours.

3) Wash your face at least twice before shaving and give it a good need. Rinse again and then apply shaving foam, cream or gel. I prefer gel as you can mould your hairs to stand in upright position. Another tip is to add a small amount of shower gel to make your formula more lathery causing the skin to be more slippery and the razor slides right through your crop of hairs.

4) Attack the hairs in every direction. Down strokes are for wimps.. attack from either angle and watch that forest fall!

5) Don't be afraid to go over tough areas again (chin, neck and sideburn area).. Add more formula if required.. Don't hold back..

6) Perform the 'water running down cheek' test. apply a droplet of H2O to the top of your cheek bone. if it runs in a straight line, you have had a clean shave and are ready to face world. If it gets re-directed on it's decent then your work isn't finished.. get that razor out.. Rebel hairs are still prevailing.

7) Rotate your formulas. Only a fool would stick to one for the rest of their lives. hairs become immune if you use the same cream over an indefinite amount of time, a bit like the borg in star trek.. Use different creams, foams and gels in small amounts so the hairs do not have enough time to assimilate adequate protection.

8) After shaving rinse with warm water and then moisturise face. doesn't that just feel better?
